Motivation: Ways to Keep Moving When All Hope is Lost
In life, there are times you feel like life is against you. And that’s normal. It’s okay to lose hope, but remember you are not in this boat alone. While it’s normal to feel demotivated, it’s essential to wake up and rise to the occasion. The following are simple ways to keep you moving when all hope is lost. Thus, having the skill of motivation is essential.
Focus on What You Like
Motivation comes automatically to the things you like doing. You will always have the energy and zeal to start and continue doing things that interest you. So, when you lose hope, check again what you are doing. And find out whether you have an interest in it.
Compare Yourself with Yourself
People more often lose hope because of comparing themselves with other people. In every point of life, there will always be someone ahead of you. If you develop a habit of comparing yourself with other people, you will forever live in frustrations. Focus on yourself and your result. Your results should be your greatest motivation. Compare your current outcome with your previous. You will be surprised by your progress when you do such reviews.
Motivation: Pursue a Bigger Goal
Setting goals is an excellent way to keep yourself motivated and will keep you awake. If your goals are easily achievable, you may lack the drive and the spark to continue. Big dreams will force you to think bigger. You will get the motivation to look for solutions continuously. When you know you have goals to achieve, energy to act will spark within you.
Talk About Your Situation
In life, there are times you will feel lost. It’s normal for everyone to think of giving up. If you are in this situation, you are not alone. Everyone has been there or is almost there. Every time you feel demotivated, look for someone to talk to. Talk to your trusted friends. Let all out, and release the emotions that come with losing hope. Talking to someone also helps in releasing all unhealthy and detrimental perspectives. When we are demotivated, we confuse our small problems with scary monsters. The only way to let the monsters out of our mind is by talking to someone. Thus, allowing others to see what we see as monsters make us realize that our problems are just ordinary.
When you are stuck in life, someone else might be having your solution. Therefore, call that friend. They will explain to you how to go about it. Always remember to only share to trusted people. People whom you share common interests. Friends who won’t judge you.
Have Accountability Partners
Setting goals and pursuing dreams can be challenging. So many times, you will feel like giving up. You will want to stop and stay away from everything that you are working on. Especially, when things do not turn out as you had anticipated. Tell a friend about that goal you are trying to achieve. As you share your goals with them, ask them to ask you about the progress. When you keep getting follow-ups from your friends, you will be motivated to keep pushing.
Spend more of your time with motivated, optimistic and enthusiastic people. Let their spirit and zeal motivate you.
